Roll Tide!!!
OK I started using kent phyto in my tank about 2 months ago and now i have some little opaque colored things growing on the glass. they look like little clear/white fleshy things with little fans on the end. there are hundreds of them and they just appeared over the course of about 2 weeks. they look like harmless filterfeeding organisms about 3 to 4 mm in size.

definately not feather dusters.....I have many of those little guys. dusters have tubes that the fan comes out of. these however are all one thing there is no separate tube. they are fleshy little things that sort of have a radiole similar to a featherduster. i cant get a pic of them with my crappy camera.

Sure sounds like sponge, as Hop suggested. Especially since you've started feeding food that filter-feeders can exploit.

they dont appear to be a problem but i dont think they are sponges either. i have yellow and purple sponges all over my LR that have little tubes that water flows thru and they look nothing like these things.

I am going with hydroids. I have seen one on a rock I have, looks exactly like you describe, but, like said, without a picture cant really say.

Now, if it is a pineapple sponge, they look like........well.......pineapples. Does your new visitor look like a pineapple?

hop you are absolutely right they are pineapple sponges!

my question is should i kill em or let em be?
I would just let them be, aside from the ones that hinder any viewing through the tank. Their numbers will decrease as time goes on (probably a few months) and you'll probably just have a small population of them where you don't notice them.
