do i really have that many mantids?!? sheesh...doesn't seem like that many. oh well--so many species, so little time
I found both of my L macs at a LFS, and happened to luck out and get a true pair! they are such a cool species, and i could not believe my luck when i found the first one, which is the male. the next week, the LFS got another one in, and although i was sure it was another male, went to check anyway. it turned out to be female!
i introduced them recently in a large tank, and they paired up immediately. the male does most of the hunting, and feeds the female. they are awesome, and it is even better to be able to watch how they interact as a pair.
i know i have posted these pics before, but oh well--here they are again. hopefully i will get a chance to take new pics of them soon.

They've had them about a month, maybe because they are priced at $150 each.
tank is basically a refugium, with live rock and macroalgae (and havanensis).
