there is another post about these in this forum. it's debated. some say they are simply another deepwater and others say they are not. i like them. but i definately wouldnt pay that for them. crazy

devil aura (aka ebay red hornet)... much like the PH have alternating skirts.

Are they worth the crazy money ppl ask for them ... NO.

this here is one of the reasons this hobby is so screwed up. everybody sees money signs. any person who spends this kind of money on a single polyp is doing nothing but being ripped off and helping this hobby go down the drain. i agree that this is nothing but hype and a way for a person to try and make some money.

I know there was a LFS selling them in CA. The Central Valley area... They actually had someone steal them, but due to posting video on YouTube and creating an amnesty post on craigslist they were returned.

imho i am a person that likes to have cool names on a coral that way u no what u are getting what i dont like is the people who find something cool and just cause it doesnt have a cool name yet they name it and "HYPE" the crap out of it to make a enourmous profit i remember when i walked into the lfs and liked the orange zoas and paid 60-100 dollars for a colonie of 100 plus polyps now i pay 60.00 for 10 polyps of the super orange bam bam kryptonite infusions lol. if we let ourselfs keep paying these crazy prices for a polyp it is only going to get worse.

It's funny that you mention the super orange bam bam kryptonite zoas. I just picked up a 12 polyp frag for 5$ a head, a bit pricey but I have to say they look great!

lol, i think they are just called bam bams i just added the kryptonite part to make a fancy name but u never noooooooo, nice zoas btw

Yea 808 they returned the frag... beacuse everyone knows everyone and thier mother in the reef community.... give it time they will be main stream.. i remember when tubbs first came out and people sold out as well... ahhh the old days....

Im the guy who wait a year and picks them up cheap, frags them out, then sells them cheap so everyone in my area can get a frag.

Luckly i got mine threw a trade :) cuz i wouldn't pay the money for them! They are very purdy!!! and very hardy as i can move it around and it stays open!

I don't see why inflated prices for very rare, and attractive corals angers people so much. If you want to buy a cheap and colorful polyp- then get some watermelons or radioactive greens for $1/polyp. Otherwise, supply and demand will justify higher prices. If no one wanted red/purple hornets then they would be dirt cheap! Lots of prices are inflated in this world: luxury cars, designer clothes, brand name medication, etc. ,etc.

I just picked up a frag of the reds in the first pic from Midwest Saltwater at our CORA frag swap last month. About 30 polyps on it. I think it ran $40. They had a green version also that I grabbed. They are sick under actinics for sure.
