Have you seen this color O. scyllarus

I found a red O. scyllarus. I'm curious if others have seen this color morph?

Hopefully this thread's sorted so Roy can reply..

My question, Dr Roy - what sex is this specimen?
 
It is a female. I doubt that a mature male would ever be this red. Some females tend towards rusty brown and this one just took it a bit further.

One additional point. Most adult O. scyllarus that I have looked at fluoresce green in blue light. So did this female.

I have no idea what that means.

Black emperor scorpions fluoresce green in black light, I used to have one, I dont know if its the same under the blue lights we use with our tanks . ive heard that its a defence against UV rays... I have no Idea if its a possibility in this case though...maby something to test
