is there any chance a newly added foxface could have killed my purple firefish ?
now the yellow tang is trying to bull the foxface m little worried ....

Do you have the body of the firefish or is it just missing. Firefish when threatened can hide for weeks to a month. The yellow tang is probably bullying the foxface because it is also yellow and similar in body size. How big is the tank?

Yes i have the body of the firefish, the aquarium is 65 gal , i think i have to get rid of the yellow tang

Good idea. He will soon outgrow your tank anyhow. Many fish will get much more aggressive when they are cramped; tangs are at the top of my list in this area.

I would ask a mod to move this to the fish disease forum, you'll get a lot more help. Just hit the little red triangle under your post count.

I think this fish may have ich, judging the spot on the pectoral fin in the 2nd pic and some other possible white spots.

The fish also seems to have a very bad bacterial infection (black areas). I've never kept rabbitfish, so I may be wrong. In any case, the fish is badly stressed from something; probably a combination of the ich and infection.

I think it's just the foxface's camouflage in full display. Mine only does that at night or when he gets really spooked. Normal coloration should be solid yellow apart from the face/gill area. Wouldn't surprise me if the YT were bullying the foxface.

To the OP: if you can post a picture of the foxface when it's not in full camo, it would help with diagnosis greatly.

Is he scratching, flashing, breathing hard? How is his eating? I take it he was not quarantined before introduction into the main?

no its acting normal, but the yellow tang keep bullying , m going to get rid of those fish.. both of the fish was a bad purchased cause my ignorance...

An established yellow tang will try (and usually succeed) in destroying a conspecific, member of the same ecological niche, or similarly shaped fish added afterwards, especially in a smallish tang.
