Hear Jaws sound when putting hand in tank

For some reason my female Ocellaris clown bites me every once in a while so
Now everytime I put my hand in the tank I hear the Jaws theme in my head lol
Anybody else ever come across this?

I feed a lot of my fish by hand just because its cool! lol They all bite me...doesn't draw any blood or anything but I definitely feel it. Now every time whether I'm feeding them or not they nip at me the same way as if I had food. I've had my triggers, foxfaces, tangs, and yes clowns nip at me. So, nothing to worry about IMO.

My female has nipped at me or came to the surface when I walk by the tank for the past 4 years. Pretty normal behavior I assume. Although she doesn't do it when anyone else walks by. I find that odd....

Wiggle your hand when she gets close... See what happens... No quick movements either.

Mine just started doing this, at first i thought maybe she had layed eggs or something because she had never minded my hand in the tank.

Apparently she was just having one of those days... Women i tell ya :)

Wait until they learn to draw blood. My tomato clown is about the size of my palm and she bites and draws blood.

Typical clown behavior. I had a clown about 10 years ago that would bite as soon as my hand touched the water. My current clowns are about 2 years old, and the female waits about 30 seconds before she attacks, then it's on lol. Still love em though, awesome fish imho, even if they are over played these days

Yeah, I put my Tomato clown in the qt for timeout! She took a nice chunk out of the fin of one of my other clown fish. Looks like a shark bite on a surf board!

I agree with all. Normal behavior in clowns.

My clownfish are "equal opportunity biters" :D Actually, they won't bite when you are watching them but the minute you turn your head the other way and not pay attention, they attack.

I wish mine were a little more protective of their anemone. They're both scaredy cats. Whenever I have to move something they just run away, and they even watch from a distance while my cleaner shrimp steals all the food from the anemone. Grrrr. I suppose the grass is always greener though.

So my 4 clowns always used to run and hide when anyone walked by the tank, just yesterday I was adding some new corals to the tank and I felt the bite! It was one of the males though. He is a tenacious little bugger! He just keeps at it, he really doesn't want my hand in the tank. This is going to make cleaning and adding corals a lot tougher now...... And yes, I do hear the JAWS theme in my head when I place my hand in the tank now :)

I had to get rid of the Tomato Clown...way too territorial. :( I still get nipped by the other fish but my trigger fish the worst. They aren't afraid of anything. They always nip at my fingers even when I'm looking. Awesome fish tho.

I had a very large percula that attacked me every time she saw my mitt. Once she grabbed the outside of my palm and was still chomping on me when my had flew out of the tank. She went right on the floor. I scooped her up, washed her mouth out with soap and tossed her back in. She was fine. No matter how used to it you get you still have that jerk reflex when they attack. I now wear a metal net glove like Spartacus did in ancient Rome before he took on the Lions.
