Hi all, longtime listener, first time caller. I have been keeping jellyfish for several years now, and they're doing quite well. I recently converted my old jellyfish tank to a 10 gal. nano tank with a couple saltwater fish. I put them in the other day, and they're doing pretty well after about 48 hours.
There were a few things new to me. Filters, (got one, works well enough) and heaters. I had an old heater I used for cycling (25 watt Hydor) and it turns out the thermostat on it crapped out. I can turn it to the lowest setting and it won't turn off? Here's the other thing, 25 watts is a bit small for a 10 gal. tank. The heater has been running at full tilt for 2 days and the water temp is coming in at 78 degrees, which is right where the fish apparently like it (76-80). Is there a need to replace it? Is there as risk of damage if the thing never turns off? I know this is a silly question but I'm just kind of new to this "vertebrate" thing.
