I just ordered my 24g aquapod it should be here tuesday..

I was wondering what size heater would be ideal for my tank?
I live in Florida.. and my house temperature varies quite a bit..
It's a wood frame house and it's off the ground.. Soo it goes from cold to warm quite a bit..

Sooo.. About what wattage do I need? and whats a good brand heater?

let me know, thanks..

I bought a titanium heater (can't remember the brand) and I think its 100 watts. I live in south florida, and have only used it for a few nights when it got really cold (if you consider in the 50's cold - I do!) Otherwise I dont ever use the heater. I also have a window unit AC that cools my entire studio. Play around with it, see what works for your tank. Set it up for a little while to see if you even need a heater. Will your tank be topless or are you keeping the stock hood on it? I actually had a lot of overheating issues when I kept the stock hood on it. I removed it to put on the 150w MH and also got the new AC and its been fine ever since.

We have seen our tank down to 68f here in Orlando (we do not use a heater), we are open top with a 150w MHQ. The tank will get towards 80f in the afternoon but we have a fan system which brings the temps down nicely when that happens.

I have read a lot about keeping the tank stable but natural reefs are anything but stable and our corals are doing very well growing and dividing. Personally I an not worried about the temp changes as as long as you do not let things get totally out of control.
