FRIENDS.
I want to say something about having great friends. Of course, I have friends on these forums, but I have only met two of you. (SubSea and Humblefish)
Everyone here has been wishing my wife, Dale, good wishes, and I read them to her. She is very grateful and had no idea I even mentioned her on forums, but I don't have much fish stuff to write about, and she is my main priority, especially now.
The majority of our friends we have had for many years, some from grammar school, and they are all calling, especially today, which is her birthday.
Almost every day since she has had this terrible pain, people have been inviting us over for dinner or bringing us food. They know she is having a hard time eating, so much of it is soup. Our neighbor is bringing us dinner tonight, and my other neighbor shoveled all my snow.
Even her 2 neurologists, who we are friends with, keep calling about her and her pain management. Dr. called me 4 times Saturday night during the snow to ask about her. She called me again this morning, even though her office is closed due to snow, to tell me she is taking her in to a surgical center tomorrow to give her another ablation.
The last one didn't work. So far, she has had a nerve block, then a Rhizotomy, then an ablation, then another nerve block, and now another ablation, none of which helped, but there is nothing else they could do. She is also on morphine that doesn't do anything.
Dale is very much well liked. More than me, but that is understandable.
When was the last time a doctor called you on a Saturday night in a blizzard?
