My wife got this new addition to the tankcan you ID it please.My gold stripe maroon keep trying to cover it with sand, what should i do and is suppose to stay in the sand or on the rock work Thanks for the help all....

Need better detail picture for ID. It doen't look like a H. crispa to me at first glance, but it could be. The color is not typical of H. crispa. Maybe it is one of the non-clownfish hosting anemone.

Its impossible for it to be a from the carribean. Collections there are restricted and punishable by jail. If it really was collected from any caribbean area, id report it.

Mihn- Yeah, i agree.. possitive I.D is a bit difficult with that picture. i just went with my first thought.

I think Clownreef is inaccurate in thinking that nothing can be collect from the Carebean. We can collect fish and anemone from the Caribean, just not coral (I know not hard coral) or liverock (Ricordea florida need to collect without liverock and glue to a piece of rock for sale, Sun anemone and other anemone from Caribean are for sale all the time).
However, there are no clownfish or clownfish hosting anemone in the Atlantic therefore your anemone is not a clownfish hosting anemone. I think it is commonly call Rock anemone, what it's Scientific name I don't remember. BTA the common name for E. quadricolor which is a Pacific species, thus your anemone is not an E. quadricolor.
Atlantic anemone often host shrimp of various species.

Not innacurate, but 100% sure. Ive been all over the carribean (Mexico and South America, where the reefs are VERY well protected) and collecting is 100% prohibited (that includes fish, coral, inverts..etc). Collection is only permitied for scientific purposes. I know people can collect ricordea in Florida, and people even collect in jamaica (thats why snorkling/diving there sucks). For any questions, here's a map of whats considered the caribbean, and im possitive it is all protected by each country's laws. Although im sure people still collect and sell illegaly, such behavior should be reporeted.

There's a few old threads on this guy, identified as an H. malu, I had one briefly. They're usually much more yellow, do a search and you'll find it.

Being positive doesn't make you right. Collection goes on in Jamaica, The Domincan, Haiti, and Puerto Rico. Where do you think all of the Condylactus that floods the markets comes from??

BTW, to me it looks like a bleached heteractis crispa.

I am sure there are more. You can even order fish, invert from many collector that collect from Florida. They are completly legal. I am sure there are rule and regulation they need to follow, and restriction in what they can and cannot collect. A planket statement that collection is illegal in the Caribean is inacurate.

Mexico, Berlize and Honduras are only few of the goverments in/border the Caribean.

I bet you guys that this is a Rock anemone from the Caribean [Epicystis crucifer (per liveaquaria.com)]. I like a better picture to be sure.

fwiw: If the LFS sold it as a BTA from the Caribbean, I would discard all data they provided

My first impression was H. malu. Those random pink tentacles are seen on H. malu sometimes. But like Scott said, without clearer pics and reliable info from the LFS, it makes an ID difficult.
