Hello All & Happy Thanksgiving.
I picked up a Medium size Blonde Naso Tang that was eating at the store where I got him, won't touch a thing here, have tried almost everything that I know of , he just swims right on by.
Other Fish in my 220 Sps tank are:
1-Coral Beauty
1-Copperband Butterfly
2-Pajama Cardinals
2-Black & White Ocellaris Clowns
1-Green Mandarin
1-Scopas Tang
1-Leopard Wrasse
1-Yellow Wrasse
Please someone tell me what to try, I know that you are suppose to keep either 1 or 3 of the same type fish. So with that being said, if I need to pick up a yellow tang or whatever my LFS has in stock, then I will, if that will help.
Thanks & Happy Reefing!!

I did put him in a QT tank, only one day, he was doing well in there, so I thought that was long enough!

An effective QT really needs to be multiple weeks in order to accomplish anything.

Naso is my 'problem' fish, and I have had all sort of issues getting them to eat. Key is to have as calm an initial environment as possible. Of your current fish, the Scopas might give it some trouble, and I certainly would not be adding any more Tangs. Then continue to offer as broad a range of foods as possible; including nori, live brine, and Mysis.

I'm 0-2 on Nasos. Same exact story - very healthy, fat specimen that was eating in the store. Never ate. My buddy is about the same - he's tried several over the last few years, and he couldn't get any to eat.

I won't try another.

Any chance you could take him back?

My Naso is mostly interested in algae - green nori, purple or red dried algae. It will eat an occasional mysis shrimp that everyone else goes nuts for. I have a couple of algae clips at either side of the tank for him to graze on.

My buddy is 1-4 with Nasos. The one he finally got eating, he rubberband some Nori to a piece of live rock rubble. I guess this way it seem more natural to it instead of having it from a clip.

I have Blonde Naso that eats like a fat pig...because he is. I also used the rubberband method to get him eating Nori while in QT. Now he is the first to the veggie clip. Trying soaking Frozen blood worms/mysis in garlic guard...

No offense intended, but these are the kind of things that drive me nuts about the hobby and RC specifically. There is absolutely no truth to this statement at all. It's just one of many wives tales that are perpetuated on this site. Adding a yellow tang would only result in a beat down from the scopas. I have seen many naso tangs waste away from not ever eating. Just keep trying all of the foods you can. Maybe try some LRS frozen food, it is supposed to be excellent for fish that don't want to eat. I will agree that one day in QT was kind of odd. You can't really tell in one day if a fish is good to go or not.

Best of luck getting your fish to eat. If he doesn't make it I would try switching to a vlamingi tang. I have had much better luck with them.

Thanks for the input to everyone who replied.
Here is what I have done.
Picked up some Metro... medicine, did a complete 100% water change, in the QT tank. Added the med, let it stir around a while, got very lucky & caught him/her & put it in the QT tank. Found just a little hair algae in my 220 up by the overflow & just threw it in there with the fish, bam he ate it. Put a sheet of Larry's seaweed in & it is tearing it up. I really do believe it was the competition in my big tank, tha the was being shy about. So going to leave him in there for a couple wks, get him back to being all fat like it was, then try the big tank again, but that will be a couple of wks.
Thanks to everyone!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
