Help Choosing Tunze Pumps

My new tank dimensions are 72"L x 48"W x 27"H.....It's a custom acrylic tank I built using 1" acrylic. The overflow is external overflow on 1 end of the tank....I'm thinking of using (3) 6305's on the tank......

I'm considering placing (2) of the 6305's on the 1 under where the overflow is located and the other 6305 placed on the left end of the tank, but on the back wall aimed toward the front panel.....

I'm also considering adding (2) 6095 along the front euro bracing of the tank as well, but not sure on this as well.

What pumps would you recommend and placement as well....Any help would be greatly appreciated.......

The 6095 will not be mountable outside of custom work on anything beyond 3/4" and the included magnets are only for up to 3/8". I would go with 2 6255, the included magnets will hold and the flow will cover the area well.

Thanks Roger!!!!!!

Are the 6305's being phased out....Curious because I don't see many places carrying them....Also had a question about the magnets.....You mentioned the 6095 magnets not being strong enough, but I know this is a long shot, but is there anyway both parts of the magnet holders can be submerged when referring to custom mounting........

Sorry for all the questions....but I guess my thinking or logic on the use of the 6095's were that I didn't want them to be over powering or over bearing since the would be mounted on the front euro bracing aiming back towards the rock work.

Does my layout for the 6305's sound correct or where you suggesting scraping them and just going with 6255's.......

Yes, both halves of (all) Tunze magnets are fully submergible. Sometimes people choose to mount the pumps on overflow boxes, so the 'outside' magnet is inside the overflow box. This can help if the magnets aren't strong enough to be used on the aquarium itself and the overflow material is thinner than the aquarium.

The 6305 and 6205 have both been replaced by the 6255. The 6255 is the newest Tunze pump, it just started coming out this month, and it's really better than anything before it. I think there are a couple reasons Roger suggested the 6255. It's the only Stream that comes ready with magnets that work on 1" thick glass. If you went with 6105s or 6155s, you'd need to buy the magnet extensions, and for that added expense you could just get the 6255s and then get away with fewer total pumps. Two is all you should need.

You mentioned you might try some 6095s on the front Euro-brace pointed to the back wall. This might work and be an option if the Euro-brace material is thinner. The 6095 comes with magnets for up to .6". But either way, I'd just start with two 6255s. That's probably more than you'll need.

Thanks Craig......

So your saying (2) 6255's would be more than enough for a SPS dominated tank.....Would my mounting locations 1 centered on the side wall under the overflow box, and the other mounted on the other end of the tank on the back wall aimed towards the front glass be ideal.......

For the 6095's I was thinking of making custom mounts for the euro bracing and using thinner material to mount them to, am concerned about both parts of the magnets being submerged....
