Help! Clown is being hunted!!!

I read the posts and followed all instructions for adding the (1.5 inch) little maroon clown to my display to hopefully be mated with my 4-5 inch maroon. Now the large maroon is trying to kill the little guy. What can I do? Should I take my large one out?

I dont want the little maroon to die but I cant catch him in my display.

Well, my experience was that with multiple anemones, the aggression ceased. So, you could add a second BTA (or two BTAs) on the opposite side of the tank to give the new arrival a home.

Otherwise, isolating the juvie in a clear "breeder" pen that allows the female to see him but not "get at him" may help with the aggression.

Try putting a clay pot in the tank with a small hole in it where the smaller clown can fit in it and find refuge from the larger one whenever it is being chased.

Ok here is the update. At this time I have 3 anemones (2 medium size and one small). Currently the large maroon is next to the medium ones and the new little maroon is next to the small one (the anemones are on opposite sides). The little maroon is now visible and every now and then the large one comes at him but not nearly as bad as yesterday the aggression has toned down dramatically.

So now I guess I wait. . . .

I had one and it split to three a while back. Ok now the hunt is on again. I have a q-tank should I take the large clown fish out and put her there for a while ? Would that help? She is still agressive not as much as yesterday but enough to annoy the little guy.

Wait until the clown is inside the anemone and pull them out at the same time slowly. It worked for my 5 inch maroon clown.

The male of my Maroon pair jumped during a poweroutage two weeks ago. He was the third male I tried. I don't know if I can go through that again. It was a lot of work.

This is what finally worked for me:
The last male was getting bullied so I took the female out. I set up a ten gallon aquarium next to my 55. I put the female in the ten gallon for about 18 days. I reintroduced her and they were fine.
