Good morning. I need a little advice. This is my second LTA, The first one is no longer with us for unknown reasons. I have kept BTA's and S. Haddoni's with no problems before so I am experienced with these wonderful animals.
This particular one in the pic below is very healthy, Very large and hosting my false percs. He gets great lighting from my HQI's and seems to stay in one spot with low/medium flow.
The problem is that he won't touch silversides. I cut them in 1/4" pieces and place one on him, It sticks (he's very sticky) and he just works it outward until it falls off his tentacles. He closes his mouth tightly if I place one very close to his mouth like a little child would when they don't want something.
I gently squirt mysis shrimp on him with a baster and he let's it float away as well.
I know he can feed off the light but can this be all that he wants? Or is it that LTA's just don't care for silversides & mysis?
Any suggestions on another food that he would take would be appreciated. Or if the light is all that he needs then I guess I can relax but I am used to my anemones eating the silversides and this one just refuses them.
Thanks.
