HELP! Flame angel spitting out food

I know she was eating frozen spirulina brine at the LFS. I watched a feeding before taking her home.

Now, she's mouthing mysis if I soak it in garlic, but she spits it back out. I'm not sure she's eaten anything at all in the two days she's been here.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the mysis is too big for her mouth? She's only about 1", maybe 1 1/8". She sucks the whole shrimp in, then spits it out again. She ignores the smaller fragments.

What should I try? Angel pellets/flakes? I don't think she's ever had them. I tried spirulina fortified brine yesterday but didn't watch her closely. She *might* have eaten some.

She does appear to be grazing on the LR all day.

If she spits it out and goes after it again, it's too big and she is getting it to a more manageable size to eat. Picking at the rock is natural for them. They sometimes pick at more than rock so keep a close eye on her

She doesn't go back at the stuff she picks, though. I think the flow might be heavier than she'd like. At the LFS food would just hang in the water column. In my DT it blows around fairly quickly.

my flame angel spit out food for the first few days as well. maybe give it some time. 1 inch is pretty small although my clowns were that small and they ate it.

give it 1-2 weeks. mine didnt eat frozen food until 2 weeks later. as long as it is picking at rocks, it should be fine.

As the others have said, as long as the fish is picking at your rocks it's probably getting all the nutrition it needs. Live rock is full of algae and pods for your fish to sustain itself. It should be fine.
