inverts seem okay. algae is not out of control. inverts are ceriths, nassariuses, hermits (red + blue) and peppermints.

a couple of days ago the gsp wouldn't open. it typically closes up at night and opens when the actinics come on. this time it wouldn't. my plate also was completely closed up.

the plate has since opened up a bit, but isn't inflating as much as normal.

of my four corals:

the gsp is completely closed
the brain isn't inflating as much as before (but it's new - 2 weeks in tank)
the plate isn't inflating as much
the mushroom is normal

the only thing i can think of is that while adding kent a/b a few days ago, i apparently didn't wait long enough between the two parts, and when i added part b, it precipitated a bit in the sump.

ideas?

I wouldn't worry. That stuff will grow in a toilet if you put a light on it. Mine used to retract for a few days at a time as well. Not sure what the cause was, but they always came back.

Meantime, takes Playa's advice and check salinity with a calibrated refractometer.

if they die im sure someone on here would be willing to send you some more...there definatly not a rare comodity...pm me if they do i will be happy to if you pay shipping...
