I traded my 1/4hp prime tower for an aqualogic 1/3 drop in and when I got it home it didnt work.I checked the pressure and had 0.I charged it up(I`m an auto tech) and it worked great for aboutr 10 minutes.I found a leak in the line with titanium probe,it was kinked.I saw another spot that had been repaired before also.My question is can I replace the copper tubing with flexible rubber type line like on an Auto???Just have one made with compression fittings and replace the copper.Would make it much easier to manipulate into my sump also.Any help appreciated.

you should be able to repair that copper line with silver solder or
replace it. an ac guy should be able to fix it in 20 minutes

Take a little longer than 20 minutes but I agree. Just silfos hole up. Would also need to pull vacuum on system and recharge after repaired hole

do as BruiseAndy instructed. You could get away with flair fittings and a length of copper tube if you can find the same size stuff as that of the leaking area. BUT I would 1st recommend going the rout of brazing with silfos(don't soft solder). Also, on ref. equipment, you will want to have a dry nitrogen purge going to keep the inside of the pipe clean. If you do manage to get HVAC grade flex hose used in auto app. of the same ID of the current lineset, I don’t see any reason it will not work. Keep the hose also the same length, as it all plays around with the fact. ref. charge when you go and change these types of things. The smaller the equip., the more accurate you have to be when charging.

Thanks guys for all the input.I think I`ll go with the flexible type hose sto make it easier manipulate into my sump.The copper line is a pain in the a** to get in.

Learn something new everyday. I would have never thought of that. Go figure.

Does he still have to pull a vaccum before recharging? Aren't these small refrigeration units critically charged? Should he slap some guages on it? (It's never easy...... )

yes, pulling a vacuum before recharging is required, along with the critical charge. Out of curiosity, what type of ref. does this particular chiller use?

It uses r134a.I will pull a vacuum before recharging.
