Help identify Clownfish

Can someone please help me identify this clown fish. It was sold to me as a snowflake, but my LFS did not know which type exactly it is.

Thanks for your response. Maybe I didn't specify exactly what I am looking for. I tried to identify this breed on ORA and other websites, but there are so many different species (E.g. premium, fancy, ice, etc.). In some cases, there are even numbers to the names (E.g. Fancy Snow Premium 90). Can you tell from the pic which one this might be?

You are talking about color patterns, not species

Ask your LFS where they got the fish from--that will help you track down the breeder. Each breeder may and typically do have their own grading system.

Keep in mind that grading is subjective. The only system with even a slight chance of being reputable is the one used for Picassos which only accounts for the white bars touching/joining or not.

If we were to even attempt to grade your clown, we'd need photos of both sides as symmetry plays a part -- this is assuming you want us to get into the nuances of grading, at the risk of pointing out defects you may not want to know about (your typical "do you want a pet dog or a show dog?").

I completely agree.

But I acknowledge that some people want to "know" what they have so I try to appease that side of people.

The reality is that it really doesn't matter what we have, unless we want to breed them and take it a step further and want to know the lineage. And even to that point, high-end breeders seek out wild clowns with aberrant patterns, rather than using other breeder's clowns.

Thanks for all your replies. To be honest, my LFS (I'm located in Europe) do not have a clue what they sold me. They actually sold me this fish as Picasso. It was actually me who told them that what they sold me were not Picasso but Snowflake. So I cannot rely on them to find out more details on my fish. I feel like buying an expensive sportscar which has no brand/model :worried2:

What you have are snowflakes. Snowflakes ranges from slightly larger irregular bars to all three bars touch each other. Anything thing more than snowflakes are meaningless and subjective names that added on by various people to increase the price of the fish. The longer the name the higher some gullible buyer pays for them.

The shape of the fish, deformities are entirely different subject. To me and most breeders the shape of the fish is most important. Most breeder would judge the fish by health, shape then color
