Help kordon ich attack

First let's be clear I can not set up a QT Tank this is only a question on 2 things

Have anyone used Kordon Ich Attack 100% natural herbal formula?
I have

Tangs, Val puffer, some hard and soft corals, pom pom crab, clowns anemones tub, carpet and bubble,

Already lost 2 fish
Does this work well or really is reef safe? Should I turn up the heat in the tank and feed them more?

Pho4 is already at .64 in my tank

2nd question
Has anyone used store bought garlic paste mixed in with the food? And does this work?

Please let's stay on topic I don't want more fish or anything to die

I have used it a very long time ago and yes it is reef safe but does not cure the ich.

There really isnt much you can do to cure ich in a tank with corals, inverts and such, turning up the temp will do nothing, the same with a uv light.

The best thing you can do is keep water parameters good, feed good foods and knock down whats causeing the stress in the tank.

What size tank do you have and what fish?

I agree wit the above post. From what I read and experiences I've seen, reef safe meds are worthless and do have a long term affect on corals.

Soak food in garlic, vitamins, keep water as good as possible, and try and keep hands away from tank. Good luck, I hope the rest pull through.

Great advice givin! First time I have seen an ich discussion and nobody suggested to catch the fish and put in a hospital tank or hypo lol cause that's the worse thing to do, Like the others said feed the fish well and keep the stress down and the fish will be fine good luck keep us updated!

Best thing you can do is read the ich sticky in this forum. DSPs' advice should be taken with a huge grain of sea salt.

I read the sticky in both forms. I thought that this med would at least kill the free swimming ich?

I think it was from an infected fish that brought it in.
I have 2 hippo tangs one med and one a baby yellow eye tang and 1 other tang forget the name
1 Val puffer fat little guy lol
Clown fish osc's
GTB, RTB, tub and carpet anemones.
Pom Pom crabs and hermit and snails
Different corals. Torch, hammer, mushrooms and others.


So then the natural ick attack is totally useless? For all the cycles of the ick life
And my only real option is to feed good and cross my fingers?

I read that but people are always vague. Just use normal liquid garlic and soak the food? Do I rinse the food off some before I feed them? Or use a liquid containing garlic? Rinse then feed?

Or can I get the garlic soft gels pills lol I would real the label and make sure it's only garlic and not other stuff

even if it killed free swimming ich there will always be enough ich in the tank to attack your fish. IMO it is useless and waste of money.

they make garlic extract that I have used to get picky fish to eat, plenty of diffrent brands at most local fish store.

you also didnt say what size tank you have?

It's a 75 gallon tank with 15 gallon sump
A sunsun 302 canister filter ( I use it for chemical pads and things like that)

I really hope that you don't have all of those fish in a 75. You'll always have stress problems and ich (now that it's there). That is until all the fish die... Actually I really hope this is a trolling thread

any perceived effect of garlic on ich is anecdotal at best. there have even been observations to suggest that it may in fact be detrimental to the long term health of marine fish.

What I have 6 fish in my tank all fairly small so what's the problem? Had them for a long time. No fights everyone gets along

you have 4 tangs, at least two of which should not be in a tank so small (the jury is out on the other two since apparently you don't even know what one of them is), in that tank.

it is not a good living situation for them.

The tangs are all very small when compaired to adults. I guess med was a stretch since I ment it when compaired to the other. Long time = less then 2 months and they will be in a 225 gallon tank in under 2 months now with this ich not buying any other fish for 10+ weeks or longer. The tiny one is about .5 inches and the bigger one is little under an inch

I don't rinse my food but I will probably start doing so, I need to do some more reading on that subject. When I was battling ich, I soaked it in a product called garlic guard and zoe. Most of my tangs went through an ich battle and have pulled through. So long as they continue to eat, they have a chance.

Feed lots of nori. My tangs go through 2 sheets a day. When I clip it, it is gone within 10 minutes. In addition to the two sheets, I feed about 2 cubes of frozen and some flake food every day as well. Tangs are pigs and eat all day, I use a reactor to help keep nutrients in check. My nitrates usually run about 5-10.

Do not feed garlic long term, it does have an impact on their long term health. I only used it when I battled ich or when I tried to get a new fish to eat.

As far as your tank size, yes in 2-3 years when your regals get to 5-6 inches each, you will need to rehome them. Several years ago, I kept a pair of regals in a 90G for 3 years, but had to find them a new home when they started fighting.

If you can't quarantine, I wouldn't make the fish suffer anymore in your tank. Give it to someone who has a quarantine that can treat the fish.
