HELP. Lighting parts

I recently bought an outer orbit used. Today, I received brand new actinic PC bulbs for it ( the outer orbit was missing them), but they do not work. Both bulbs light up but its VERY VERY dim. Seriously no joke, my moonlights are brighter. One bulb is constantly flickering on and off.

I’m sure this is a noob question, but I wanted to ask if anyone could tell me what is causing this. Is it the ballasts or something else?

i have noticed from time to time that the metal female couplings/connectors tend to spread open and fail to make good contact causing what you are describing. you may want to remove the bulbs and make sure you can see that connectors are perfectly round. thats all i can suggest without seeing it in person

BTW, if they are spread apart you can squeeze them back together with needle nose pliers

thanks lilfishbigreef, ill this tomorow. Gonna open it up too and see if there are loose wires.

not loose wires, just spread open connectors. look in where the prongs on the bulbs go into to boot/end cap, i assume you should be able to see where those prongs go plugged in, if you see them spread open then you should try to squeeze them back together with pliers
