Help me find a Sac LFS

Hey guys, Sherman from CVR here, down in central CA.

I'm headed up this weekend for WMC, and was given a list of stores that are worth visiting.

O Street Aquarium
Capital Aquarium
Exotic Aquarium

I was also told that SOMEWHERE there is a saddle/tack/western shop that has a HUGE fish room in the back, where nobody would ever expect it. The guy who told me about it used to be from Sac, and said it was the largest store he's ever seen besides the LA wholesalers.

Any ideas where/what this could be?

Also, any thoughts on the already listed stores?

Just lookin. It's always nice to see the stores when in a new town. SPS/LPS/clams, the usual. I don't really have my eye out for anything in particular right now, just looking.

Cool, thanks.

No ideas on this western saddle/tack shop, huh? One of our users ha been there, but he's never been able to find it again. He insisted it was HUGE.

Only one I know of is Lee's Feed. I haven't been there, but I heard there's a place up Hwy. 50 in Shingle Springs that had tanks in the back room.

Unless you want something to compare Your Reef to, I wouldn't bother with Capitol, or Exotic, and O-Street is borderline. Aqualife up in Rocklin is alright, but they're in the middle of shuffling the store around and the invert tanks are empty.

I agree with Rich... O-street has some cool LPS from time to time, but have never been impressed with their SPS. There is a place down I-5 a few minutes called Paradise that has had some really nice Acan Lords the past couple of times I've been there, but can be pricey for them. BUT.....For the best selection and quality it's deffently John's new Your Reef in roseville.

the only place i know of that has fish and horse supplies/tack is Rivervalley feed in riolinda but the fish section is small (like 10 tanks) and just freshwater.

There is a western store in Lodi (about 30 miles south of Sac) called Robinson's Feed and they have a fairly good size fish department in the back/middle of the store (used to be tucked away in the back at old location), mostly fresh water, some salt. Their saltwater doesn't compare to O St.'s or Exotics, so unless you're hard up for things to do, you can probably pass on it. They're currently rebuilding the department, and extremely low on livestock and drygoods. Exotic sucks on service, but great variety and prices, in my opinion.

Lee's Feed in Shingle Springs is primarily just that, a feed store, but they also have a large selection of western wear and tack. They also have a fairly large marine section, say about half the size of O Street or maybe a third, but with six or seven coral tanks. The guy who runs that area, Ryan, knows quite a bit and has been helpful to me when I was getting started.
