help me my T. derasa does not look good

my T. derasa is gaping i think. the opening is stretched out and i can see inside of the clam. when i look in the clam i see white masses and a yellow area. what are the insides suppose to look like?
i am going to post pics later.

it dosent look too stress to me. get a Ca/Alk and Mg test kits and get those in line

Another vote for getting good quality CA and ALK kits. YOu're playing russian roulette with your tank without them.

my sg was at 21 it is low for my tank i am slowly bringing it back to 25. would nitrate do this?

i doubt nitrates would have any effect on the clam, unless they were through the roof

Yes, that salinity is a BIG problem. That would stress out your clam for sure!

it lost its frills ( sorry i dont know what they are called) around the opening. i have never seen one with out these frills

there just stretched out a little. considering you haven't tested for Ca/Alk in some time (maybe never) this is most likely the problem. clams are very dependent on good water chemistry. get the test kits and get your chemistry in line and see what that does

i got it tested two weeks ago. they were a little high but not buy much

lol what was a little high? you need to specify. Your clam actually looks pretty good. And High nitrates usually are A ok for clams. good luck!
