help me my T. derasa does not look good

my T. derasa is gaping i think. the opening is stretched out and i can see inside of the clam. when i look in the clam i see white masses and a yellow area. what are the insides suppose to look like?
i am going to post pics later.

Another vote for getting good quality CA and ALK kits. YOu're playing russian roulette with your tank without them.
 
so those are the most impotent things to test for?
my sg was at 21 it is low for my tank i am slowly bringing it back to 25. would nitrate do this?
 
it lost its frills ( sorry i dont know what they are called) around the opening. i have never seen one with out these frills
 
there just stretched out a little. considering you haven't tested for Ca/Alk in some time (maybe never) this is most likely the problem. clams are very dependent on good water chemistry. get the test kits and get your chemistry in line and see what that does
 
lol what was a little high? you need to specify. Your clam actually looks pretty good. And High nitrates usually are A ok for clams. good luck!
