Help me set up a quarantine tank

It's just my opinion, I am sure everyone can make up their own minds on what works for them and what does'nt. Really I could care less either way if someone uses it or not. I do however, see ozone as being a more effective way for achieving water clarity. But myself I am still reluctant to use it because I know there is always a "chance" for something to malfunction and cause a major catastrophe in your biotope.

Also if the discussion boards are not open forums please let me know and I will keep all of my ideas to myself as to not lead anyone down the path to enlightenment or failure. Truly though I believe this would be a great disservice to the club because I feel it is important to be able to see the various viewpoints, each hobbyist has on topics.

How many times have your thoughts on a subject changed in this hobby over the years? I know mine have and I am always trying to work towards better husbandry. Sometimes it takes more technology and sometimes it takes more biology. If I recall we have both been doing this for around the same amount of time and I know you have assisted me in my endeavors and I in yours.

If I remember hearing right, it wasn't too long ago when Ron couldn't see the benefits of MH lighting, though now he "sees the light"

...IF it works for you great, if it does'nt then leave those alone that it is working for...

Ummm the "you" I am referring to in this post above is not targeted at any one particular person, It is targeted at the entire reefkeeping community. I appreciate an open forum as well as anyone else and for the record Phil has helped me more than just about anyone with my study of the hobby.

Fun is fun but I don't want others here to get the impression that I don't respect or think Phil knows what he is talking about as he knows as much or more about the hobby than most of us here and I consider him a good friend. Any bickering between us is purely personal and should be considered more of an inside joke than anything serious.

We will NEVER agree 100% on anything and I mean each and everyone of us here. We use what works for us and sometimes we feel a bit driven to spread the word of our success or rather presumed success. Sometimes we are right other times we are expounding upon ideas and theories that only work for us and forget to mention the failures.

Im not sure where we should draw the line as to when we should as Phil said keep all of our ideas to ourselves. Perhaps we should just let others learn as we all have that is by researching every possible aspect of a particular problem.

If you wish to share your knowledge here then feel free to do so, but understand that here will be others who will not agree with you every time especially on controversial topics. Just state your opinion on a matter and don't take it or make it a personal issue. If we did this in our everyday life we would'nt have as much problems in our world, it all starts with each of us. We either help each other or we condemn each to go looking for answers on his or her own, and to me that's not what the group is about.

Good luck on whatever path you choose I think all the bases have been covered here. Time to start a new topic as suggested.

Oh I have learned a lot from my fellow club members and have made some great friends here that have given me valuable advice. When you first approach this hobby you see everyone trying to sell you the top of the line equipment and you think they are doing just that, trying to sell you something. $300 powerheads and $1000 lights? Why when I can do the same thing with PCs and a few Mj1200s. LOL Simple because you can't sustain the growth in the long run. So if you don't take those steps and acquire the good stuff you will likely be selling off your tank in the sale forum in less than a year or two. I have learned a great deal and thank everyone for the help along the way. I hope we can continue to provide these diverse views and educate others into what we have observed in our works and studies.
