Ok water is good:

380 ppm ca
7.3 alk
8.2 ph
80 degree
35 ppt
Set up 12+months

Had anemone for a month eating great. Was doing great, eating and growing and full,! and I moved the vortech to the other side of the tAnk Tuesday, can't leave well enough alone. Today it looks like the attached photo. White puffy mouth and shrunken tentacles.

Did I kill it? Do I keep it in the tank for now? Only clowns and snails In the tank so hardy animals.

Do I do a water change now? Or do I wait and see? Could a water change make things worse?

Ok. Sorry. Seems to be a false alarm. It looks small right now but the mouth has gone back to normal. If it gets worse I'll post.

BTAs are famous for shrinking nightly.. you probably just ****ed it off from the flow change. They tend to move around when flow changes. They also shrink and expell poo 1-2 day after feeding.

Well it seems fine today. It shrinks every night but this was different. It wasn't late enough to be that small and the mouth was some what inverted which I have never seen before. It hasn't moved since I changed the flow but I guess we will see

Lose the powerhead if you can. Anemones are attracted to the pull of them. They will survive being chopped up a little bit as long as the foot is not damaged and good water chemistry. I've had a couple get chopped up and recover so it is possible.

As an update the nem split shortly after this issue into three more nems, one of the split nems died shortly thereafter and was promptly removed. The original one is still alive and healthy at about 6-7" across and the smaller split nem moved to the opposit side of tank, is about 2 inches across, but is still alive and doing well.

And in case anyone is wondering the clowns still ignore the nems.
