This is my first anemone. Its a green BTA. I wasnt planning on getting one, but I saw it at my LFS and it looked very healthy.

I got it yesterday afternoon, and It attached itself to a rock and over a couple hours expanded very large. It look very healthy and my clown was already hosting it.

Today I tried to feed it some shrimp, it took it slowly. I noticed an hour later it had spit it out and has been deflated and seems very "weak". its like stringy. It lost its size and has moved down towards the sand.

Im just so nervous. I got it from a LFS. one that has a lot of fish/ anemones but they never seem to be healthy. The people there have no idea what they are talking about.

I saw this one and it just looked so healthy I had to get it!

It does look better. I went and bout some krill and silver sides to feed it. I may wait a few days though.

Im living proof that the bta's are much hardier than we give credit. Deflated is not a bad thing, being that it's new, it's gonna take some time until it settles.

Don't feed it krill of silver sides. They are hard to digest which is bad. Buy some large mysis shrimp, and feed it lots of mysis twice a week ever week and it will grow fast and split! ;)

That anemone looks great! The deflating/inflating that will go on for the next few days is its' way of adjusting to your tank/water params. Don't be suprised if it walks until it finds its' happy place. Let it do its' thing.
