Hello guys I purchased a sabea nem off a guy on the local forums. I got him home everything looked great I left the pumps off for a few hours and went to turn them on and he was still not attached to anything. I turned on my weakest pump and checked on him the following morning and still not attached.

Heres a few pics.

My lighting is 1 250w and 1 150w MH 70g tank with sump/fuge.
My water levels are all fine except the small algae bloom from buying to many snails and some died off, but phosphate at 0.

In the pic with his foot he is attacked to some rubble could this be the problem? Hes been in the tank since sunday and I can only turn on 2 pumps right now a K3 and K1

Thanks
Dave

Mine used to like to attach to the rock where it meets the sand or lower. I would surround your anemone with rocks and turn so you can turn your pumps back on and not have it blown around. When it attaches to one of the rocks, you can move that rock to a spot on the sand that suits you better.

I would add that you may want to loosen up the sand under him. dig a shallow hole, then place a rock at the bottom of the hole. and let him settle down a bit. then

I recently added a saddle nem to my dt and the only way I could get it to attach was dig a hole big enough for the foot, place the foot on the glass then gently place sand around the foot ontil it stayed put. I had all the flow off while I did this, I checked every hour to see if it had attached it took about 8 hours before I could turn all the pumps back on. The key word to all this is GENTLE. You dont want to poke a hole in him.

He moved about an inch to that his foot is where the rock meets the glass under the sand. Good luck.

I did try to dig a spot for him but still no luck. I think I am going to try and dig another hole this weekend and get him to touch the glass / rock and get settled. I just dont want to stress him out too much but he seems to do fine. The clowns are sleeping in him now lol.

I will keep you guys updated.
Dave
