Help!! My RBTA just split

Like the title says, my RBTA just split this evening. It had moved from its spot yesterday/last night and then this evening I noticed the split. Is there anything I need to do to ensure a healthy split? This is my first nem and I've only had him for about 6 weeks. He's been eating well, silver sides twice a week. Thanks in advance.

normally they heal on their own just fine after a split, but with it moving you may need to check your parameters. BTAs will split due to stress. Did you change/alter anything lately? Bulb changes, large water changes, or a chemistry issue will initiate a split.

I did redo the aquascape this past weekend, so that could be it. Otherwise my params have been stable. I'll keep an eye on powerheads...maybe turn one off tonight.

Another question I have is in regards to feeding the RBTA's now that they split. How long should I wait before feeding them? Can they eat right after a split, or should I wait a few days? Thanks.

your anemones should be fine if you leave them be. I agree with others when watching to make sure they don't encounter a powerhead. They will inevitably move, so be sure they don't move into a bad area. Begin feeding them when their mouths are formed. If they have enough pigment and can photosynthesize, they can survive without food for quite a while
