started my cycle around 4 days ago and have noticed what seems to be flatworms on my glass, ive only been able to notice around 8-10 of these critters and i am unable to take a clear enough picture to truly indicate what kind of flatworm they are, but ive tried to do some research and haver narrowed them down to being: Convotriloba Flatworm aka Red Planaria. MIne are about 2-3mm in size each.

are these flatworms dangerous

if so whats the best method of irradiaction?

thanks

well the red ones feed on waste. so with a new tank keep changing water, stir up any gunk with a turkey baster and if you get the extra organic waste out they will die off naturaly and not be a problem.

they sometimes can be a pest ... but like alge they are a sign of extra waste / food that no other citter has taken up.

you can does the tank with flatworm exit -- marinedepot has it.
but best to clean the tank and let them cycle out ....

if you does the tank then they will die and in a mass die-off thay release a nasty toxin that can kill off many things in your tank.

so try to keep the tank clean first...
