Help Pls!! I don't know what to do.. I just picked up a haddoni carpet and my true perculas went right in to host... sounds great right... but they seem to be mad at the carpet or something.. they have been biting and nipping at the mouth and edge of the anemone.. Is this natural behavior?? The carpet is mounted on a rock and has been moving all over the tank.. seems like trying to escape my clowns. What should I do? remove the clowns? Please help... =(

hmm, i never kept haddoni before but never heard of this problem before either.

Based on the article i read and link here, it may not be natural host...

http://www.amdareef.com/ho_anemones.htm

So my suggestion is to closely monitor it, if the haddoni is not doing well, remove it or remove the clown fish.

is the haddoni's mouth open at all?
i've only read a few times where people have said something like this..and the haddoni's mouth was open/gaping...

try seperating the two for now since the haddoni is new, let it acclimate to your tank, its already stressed from being added to a new tank..just my thoughts

+1, separate them so the anem can be acclimanted. i believe after a week or so you can put them back together again.

I would separate the nem from the clowns for now.
Also, are you sure it's a haddoni? If it is then you really want to put the nem on the sand. Dig a hole and let it bury it's foot under the sand. Just like the pic in your avatar.

It's for sure a haddoni.. The pic in the avatar was one a had many years ago.. my new one is also a red haddoni.. the mouth doesnt look that open.. I have removed the clowns, but they ripped up about a 2 inch area around the rim.. I did have it buried in the sandbed.. but it keeps moving around with its foot attached.. crawling in and out of my rockwork..

Here's a pic.. is there hope???

Clowns removed to the fuge. I hope it heals.. Should I dip nem with iodine? Should I cut off the torn tissue?

I would definitely not cut it. The carpet looks like its in the rocks from the picture. Haddoni's like to bury their feet in the sand/rock interface. I would try to move it back down to the sand if possilbe since the clowns are removed now.

Percula ocellaris and skunks normally like to pull at the nems mouth. Haddoni isnt a natural host though.

nem is in a container floating in my tank. cleaner shrimp was picking at the torn tissue. I cannot catch it. hopefully it will heal on its own.. Any suggestions on feeding or if i should try to catch the shrimp and put the carpet in the sand?
