Help!! New tank with algae issues taking over

I have an 82 gallon with 41 sump. The system was setup 9 weeks ago and all the coral looks good but I'm struggling to keep what I believe to be algae at bay. Not sure if it's gha or what but I want it gone. At first I thought it was new tank syndrome(brown diatoms, which I still have), but the strands of this algae grow long off of my returns.
Please tell me how to rid my tank of this ugly crap that's plaguing our tank.

Your tank is still very new, so this is expected. You also need to check your nitrite and phosphate levels. Also, what kind of water do you use for water changes and topping off?

You have left out some important info. Any fish yet, what are you feeding? Are you testing nitrates & phosphates with GOOD QUALITY tests? Yes, your tank is young and this is part of the process.

You probably have nutrients accumulating in the water column. This could be coming from fish & coral waste, residual die-off of whatever came with your live rock, leaching of stored phosphate inside the rock, over feeding, etc. Or any combination of these factors.

In theory the solution is simple - you need to export these nutrients down to a level where the algae is unable to grow and expand. But you need to test for these nutrients so you know where you are now and confirm that whatever exports methods you choose are indeed making a difference. It takes some time so be patient.

Proper & regular nutrient export will be the key. Your choices are many:
Water changes. Carbon dosing of vodka, bio pellets etc. GFO in a reactor. Siphon out detritus. Good skimming. Carbon usage. While employing these techniques it's important to physically remove all the algae you can.

All these topics are covered in depth in the stickies at the beginning of many different forums. Good luck.

Tank was full of coralline that's died off since moving, no fish I this tank yet, just one shrimp, 3 emeralds, and one arrow crab. Have snails for cuc, and I feed very light 2x/week.
Nitrates are low haven't checked phosphate but the live rock was transported submerged and heated and aerated so it should be good. I've got a BM NAC7 skimmer and the coral is healthy but so is the algae

Your question was answered in post #3 which you seem to have just skimmed over. If you plan to be a long term member on this forum and get some decent advice in the upcoming future I'd can the attitude.

I was not talking about that particular answer. I did not skip over it, I just wanted multiple feedback(positive). And I'm not the one that started the attitude.

Let's all calm down here, okay? I've removed a few posts, I'd like to leave it at that.

Bottom line water changes if you didnt use ro do, u need to use ro di im a reef tank rule #1...tanks go threw algae cycles amd once u think this one is gone it will just turn into another type of algae untill YOu remove all the phosphates amd nitrates...ro water changes, macro im fuge, gfo.....manual removal is removing phosphates also remove S much as possible
