What exactly are these? I was thinking hey were a ricordia mimic of some sort, but they are developing more bumps. They were a deep maroon under VHO's, but ave changed to this much nicer color under 175W 12K MH.

I think they're discosomas, and they might be discosoma neglecta, which I think is Caribbean. If they're what I have, they have a reddish base with what looks like bluegreen copper patina smeared across the bumps. Mine were hitchhikers on my live rock and survived the cycle. One, which sited itself in a cave, is growing fairly large, at about 3 inches diameter. The others, in better lighting, are remaining fairly small and more greenish patina.
The neglecta is extremely tough and may have a degree of irregularlity about its outer rim---not perfectly round, ie.

Mine is still coloring up under the 12K's, but has some pretty nice colors. It was likely from the Caribbean, as I purchased the rock for the green rics that didn't end up making it (rescue and recovery mission). I had read something somewhere about ric mimic mushrooms, but haven't seen many of these.
