HELP sps spawning

today i noticed that my montipora digitata is releasing very small white balls from the tips of its polyps. i am assuming that these are eggs.
does anybody have any experience with montipora spawning?
any general advice about sps spawning?
this is happening in my 30 gallon nano reef, should i turn off the protein skimmer or keep it on?

Thanks

Could it be just slime coat? I have a stag mini colony that sometimes will start to slime a bit if i mess around near it.. Does it look like clumpy spider web?

the colonie is near the back wall of the tank, and the white dots are very small. they look just like grains of sugar. i tried to take pics but the dots are two small to see, i have had other corals spawn in my tank and the eggs are usually much larger, that is why i am wondering if anybody has experience with montipora digitata spawning, because i do not know what to expect in terms of egg size.

it is extremlly rare to have sps spawning in our small tanks. There is maybe two or three people around here that may help with it.

Biggles is one of them

Sounds like that is the case. Particularly if you've had others do it as well, means you're doing something right.

I had my pink lemonade spawn a while back that I saw. Shooting clouds into the air for a few seconds. The pumps happened to be off as I was taking photos and doing some maintenance right around lights out. I had just put the camera way and then poof.

when your pink lemonade spawned, did you have a skimmer running? i'm not sure if i should turn my skimmer off or keep it on. i don't think the eggs are small enough to be pulled out by the skimmer, or at least i hope they are not.

i really wish i could get some pictures but i don't have a proper close up lens on my camera and my iPhone can not zoom in well.

I have heard of Pocillopora corals doing this a lot in captivity, which is why I never put them in my tank. An old reefer would swear that these will eventually destroy an sps tank. Look out, you might have a tank full of montiporas in a year.

I have Pocillopora every where on my rocks. I try to remove it manually, it is a pain they do show up in hard place to get to
