my 75 gallon is about 2 months old now, have 40 lbs reef bones and 40 lbs live rock.also 8 small fish.

fine green algae is growing on the rock, glass, substrate, pump, ypu name it!

water tests good except ammonia is at lowest part on test chart (0.1 ) i think.

I feed fish flakes once an evening,i soak the flakes so they sink in the water.

I have 2x56 watt 10,000k and 2x 56 watt actinic t5`s with separate reflectors. I have actinics come on at 9 am and daylights at 10 am. daylights off at 10 pm and actinics at 11 pm.

water temp is about 82 degrees.

any ideas?

thanks

what are your water params? your light cycle is a tad long, i have my actinics onfor 12hrs and MH for 7.5, what are reef bones?

Fish don't really need light. Corals need light, and coraline would need light to grow. Unless you have corals, or really, really want a lot of coraline, you should consider cutting back on your lighting period considerably.

Also, what type of filtration are you using? What are your other water parameters? What is your water change routine?

reef bones are same as base rock I believe.

nitrites and nitrates are perfect. hope to get ammonia to zero by feeding every second day.

will reduce lighting to : actinics from 10 am to 11 pm and daylights from noon to 8 pm.

don`t have cleaner shrimps yet lfs says 2 months is too new a tank for crustaceans.

I have 5 crabs but 3 seem to have disappeared!

nitrates and phosphates are algae food. If its reading low/none thats cause the algae is consuming it all. Clean off as much as possible, water change, wait a week.

2 months is fairly new, its still perfecting its bio-filter. i had the same problem aruond that time. New tanks will have algae bloom. look forward to possibly a red hair algae spike within another month
