Help too many RBTA's

I now have 5, yes 5 in my 54g reef, make them stop! Anyone know a good way to make them detach so I could sell some off?

ice cube(you can make with RO water) is most common I've seen. People say you can blow off with powerhead but I've not had success

You can try turning off your powerheads for half an hour or so. Usually my BTAs "get confused" and they start to inflate.. then I gently peel them off.

If possible, you could sell them with the rock they are attached to for more money. That way you don't have to worry about stressing them out. Stressing them out could make them split more or cause them to bleach. Trying to get them off the rock could possibly damage their foot.

I just blast the foot with a powerhead until I find a weak spot that I can get loostened up by blasting it with the PH. Once I get it loostened to the point where I can get my finger under it, I just gently peel it back taking care not to rip the foot.

You can use some of the other methods mentioned above to get them to start detatching on their own. Usually after lights out they will try to make a move and are much easier to get off the rocks.

I just get right on the edge next to the rock and lightly start rubbing upward, keyword lightly. Don't pull them up. After a few seconds they slowly start to let go. Just work your way around slowly and they will pop right off.

I would vote for selling the rock they're on...no risk to the anemone and you can charge a slight premium.

In my experience, a powerhead directly at a RBTA yielded one thing: two RBTAs b/c they split for me and both are down in a rock...so that doesn't work for me..

I just crack the rock and sell off pieces!

Not to be rude, but if one intends to sell them; what detriment is there in them splitting? Couldn't you sell two smaller ones for more than you could get for one on a piece of rock? Not to mention you have to rip apart your reef to get at them. BTAs do not typically attach to the surface of a rock. They look for a crevice to wedge their foot into.

Fishyness,
Where are you? Maybe a local would be willing to help you remove them if you gave them a good deal on them....
