Help with 6100 impellar

One of my 6100 stopped working. I pulled the impellar and the very bottom separated from the magnet. I got it out of the motor, no problem. Does this mean the impellar is toast? If so, how do I get a replacement.

It sounds like it is just the upper bearing, 3000.610 which is normally seperate. If this is the part that was seperate it would not cause the pump to not work.

Is the upper bearing the ring at the bottom of the pic?

That is it, in the pic it has the 3000.612 oring attached. The main thing that doesn't look right is the bearing shell should be attached to the shaft and the brake shoes should be retaracted in the shaft.

The brake shoes do retract, (didn't know what they were, so I pulled them out for the pic). One is very loose and keeps falling out.

I am assuming the bearing shell is the black ring at the top of the impellar, just below the blades? This is also very loose. When flush with the white plastic, it will just barely move (about 1/16 inch rotate). However, it slides up and down the shaft without and problem. Nothing holding it in place. Is this the problem? And, is it fixable?

I think I might consider ordering part 6100.700, it was the replacement for the older multipart impeller for the controllable streams(6000, 6100, 6101) a couple years ago. It is a simpler design without the shoes and all but the upper bearing is "one piece". If you type 6100.700 into a search on the tunze site you can see a pic.

I agree with Shawn, it is probably time for a new drive unit and it makes sense to get the newer version 6100.70
