Help with Aquapod Fan Mod

Hey everyone, I bought my aquapod about a week ago and now Im trying to mod my hood fan. Darn thing is truly annoying. ANyways, I have heard from other people that their fans have an "insert clip" so it was easy to swap fans. Mine doesnt. If I get a new fan can I just cut and strip the wires and reconnect the red and black wires?

Has anyone else done this>? Do I have to worry about volts or wattages?

You can check out my journal and see that I've done this mod without a "clip" (which is something I haven't heard of on aquapods).

Just added a second fan to my 24 pod tonight. Just stripped the wires from the stock fan and spliced the new fan in . Im gonna pick up a couple of blue LED fans this week and replace the 2 fans that are on their now.
