Hello.

So I got a chiller and a 750 gph inline pump. I have no sump so how would this get set up?

Tube from tank to pump input, then tube from output of pump to input of chiller, then tube from output of chiller back to tank?

Would I need an overflow?

thanks

I've thought about a setup like that before. however i don't think most pumps are self priming. maybe at the top of the pipes where the go over the side of the tank you can tee each side of and put in a screw cap. that way you can unscrew it to pour water in. or you can start it off by pointing a pump directly into the intake to shoot water in.

Just put the inflow into the tank and suck. Id put the pump after the chiller and run the return back up to the tank from the pump. Itll never go dry as gravity becomes your friend anless the intake siphon is broke somehow broke. Also if possible put the chiller as far from living space as you can. It will get very warm when the chiller runs. My chiller is in another room plumbed into my sump which i know isnt possible for your setup. Pierce (Cali reef) has his chiller plumbed to the great outdoors.

Thanks for all the tips. I got it to work. I do have to keep the chiller on the floor next to the tank because I have no other space. It is 1 foot from the central ac vent and I pointed a few of the vent spacers at the unit. I think it will be fine.

Working good...
