Help with choosing pump for calcium reactor

I have a calcium reactor and the water input is controlled by a needle wheel valve. Its ok but not great accurate control.

I would like to get a pump (peristatic pump?) so control it instead.

Anyone recommend a pump that is rated at continuous use and also controllable? Dont mind paying up to $200 for something good.

A peristaltic pump is going to cost more. There is a thread here Masterflex Dosing pump
for a calcium reactor. Read up on it there, A LONG THREAD, but the first few pages should set you straight.

The other option is what I went with and is the Spectrapure Ultra Precise ATO. You can set it from 9ml to 900 ml a min and is a peristalic pump. They are also supposedly coming out with a more calrx specific pump shortly.

I paid less than $200 for my masterflex, but it was an older model and only quiet if you are completely deaf.

Are you still using this and how has it worked out? Thanks

Me too. It was many years ago and my sump is in the basement. Heck you should hear my Iwaki 100 return pump.

I also use a Masterflex for ATO.

Not sure why I am only just now seeing this but yes still using the pump. I now need to swap out the tubing and rollers though which is all of $30 from Spectrapure. Not too shabby IMHO.
