Help with fish please

I got 3 blue-green cromis on Wed. one has died and the other 2 look like they may be breathing kinda fast. All my tests show that the water parameters are all perficet. Can someone help me with what it wrong? or do they just normaly breath kinda fast.
 
How perfect? Ph? 7.9-8.3. Temp 80. No nitrate/ammonia?

Your fish may have ich. That parasite, which looks like grains of salt infesting fins and body, also hides in the gills, where it may prevent the fish from breathing properly. You have to get them out to a quarantine tank (you can borrow some tank water for them, or make up new salt water) and lower the salinity by the addition of fresh water. Consult in the disease forum: I'm number dyslexic and would not attempt to tell you the correct salinity for a hyposalinity treatment. DO NOT DO HYPO in your main tank: it will harm your rock and sandbed.
 
ammo 0, no2 0, ph 8.4, salt 1.023. I dont see any ich on them anywhere (I've had fish before with it and I can't see any now). and I will go check out disease forum. Thanks sk8r
 
snorvich I had it up to about 1.024 almost 1.025 and the woman at the petshop told me to lower it. So is it better to have it higher?
 
What was the salinity of the water at the pet store? I don't know if the big difference would cause problems. Just throwing it out there. Maybe someone with more knowledge can comment.
 
Fins, Im not sure what the salinity at the store is for sure, I couldnt get hold of her when I tried to call her back. I shouldnt of said my parameters are perfect (nothing is perfect :) ) and I did just noitce that my temp is at 80, could that be the problem? thanks guys for all you help.
 
I have chromis in 84 deg water at this very moment without issue. If they were acclimated properly, i don't think that's your issue. The two could have killed the one. Mine are always darting around and breathing quickly.
 
Kau they were acculimated in a drip tank for and hour and half, 1.026 is safe? on my hydrometer it shows the safe zone ending at 1.023. Crsswift 84 wow! I was worried when my temps got to 80. I didn't know the inverts could handle such temps and you say yours breath quickly, maybe the 2 did kill the one and I'm worried for nothing (it's been so long since I've had fish, I'm not sure what a normal breathing pattern is anymore :( ). Thanks you guys, hopefuly they will live and there is nothing to worry about.
 
It peaked at 86 every day until i put a fan on the fuge. I've had my tanks around that temp for 3 years without issue.
 
Kau thanks for the link, very informative. crsswift so far the highest mine has gottne is 82.7 and I freeked and have been putting fans under and above trying to get it down to 78 now I know that I was freeking for nothing. Thank you guys very much.
 
The swing arm hydrometer is notoriously inaccurate. 1.0264 is nsw.Most go around 1.025. If your lfs was running lower salinity say 1.20 or 1.21 then a jump to 1.023 or 1.024 even with an hour of acclimation would stress the fish.

Blue green chromis are also pretty aggressive toward one another once they etablish territory in a home tank. Three often becomes one or none,
 
tmz, the only reason I got 3 was because the article I read said you need to keep then in schools of odd numbers to keep them form being aggressive. and they all seemed to have been getting along (schooling together) I didn't see them fighting just following eachother. Thanks for the info.
 
I have tried three in a 120 tank 2x and wound up with one each time.If you have live rock and other life in the tank then an sg of around 1.025 is good. Remeber your hydrometer may be off. If you just have these fish then you can lower it a bit for a week or two and bring it up slowly. Lowering it will make it easier for them in the short term since they won't have to work as hard to stay hydrated.

:) Could be both parameters.especially sg variation and aggression.
 
Well so far both the fish are still alive and seem to be doing good. Thank you guys all so very much. you have all releved a lot of my own stress, Thanks :)
