Help with holding tank

Must move my corals into a temp tank while I clean and redo my reef. This will be a holding area for 90 days after many parasites have adversly effected my reef.

Can I use Dr. Tim's to quick cycle with some live rock? I don't want sand. There will be no fish in tank so I will use ammonia provided by dr. tims. I will be using a hang on the back filter along with a sponge filter to collect bacteria. After it cycles can I then put all my display corals in it? I cannot use anything from my existing display tank due to parasite issue I had. I was told to put all corals in this new tank for 90 days. this will also alow any parasite that might be clinging to corals to fall off and die.

Any set up suggestions?

Thoughts?

what parasites are we talking about? what type of corals do you have, how many corals? you can cycle a tank with some of those Dr tims bacterias or others in the market however depending on the corals this may not be fast enough.

If it's fish parasites (Ich, velvet) no need to remove your corals from the display. Letting the display aquarium go fallow (without fish) will take care of your problem. Also the magic number is 76 days not 90.

Need to know what you're dealing with. Like said above if fish no need to tear down. If coral what kind? AEFW, MEN, Zoa nudis? Those are the only ones that might need such drastic measures that I can think of.
