Help with MP40 use

I just acquired an MP40 and I'm wondering how to make the best use of it. I have 2 koralia 750's and 3/4 in sea swirl on a mag 9.5 with split locline. Would the mp40 work well with the sea swirl, no koralias? What would be the best configuration on a 75g. Thanks.

I think that you could use your MP40 in mode reef crest (the yellow color in control).
I think you must look and see what de better configuration in your reef, perhaps you have live rock or coral near pump.

Perhaps the pump in the some configuration could rise the sand to the water and the view of your reef could will be bad. The best will be do some test with the equipament.

well every tank is different but ill take a stab at it... if i was you id take out your old powerheads and just run the mp40 and sit in front of your tank and see what happens and adjust accordingly. if you feel you need more flow then add one old powerhead on the opposite side of the mp40. sit back take a look and if you still feel the need for more then add/adjust accordingly. pretty much just fiddle with it to yours or your reefs likings.

PS: I run one mp40 @ 80% on my 90g tank w/ a mag 9.5 as my return. my lps, rbta, mushrooms, and zoas are doing great. no sps at the moment.

I have 2 MP 40s running on opposites sides of my 150. My return is pumped through 2 sea swirls in the back corners pointed inward. All the modes on the vortech work as they should. Seems like a great combo.

Get an APEX with a WXM

Get an APEX with a WXM

So if you want ot go really nuts with the MP40s....and you have an APEX....go buy the WXM module to control the MP40's.

With the WXM you can adjust hte modes throughout the day, varying the speeds, modes, switch from Sync to Antisync, feed modes....it's truly totally customizable.

I like the modes, but having the WXM swtich modes for me with predefined profiles is awesome!!!

1 MP40 with or without a small Koralia or 2 on a 75 is more than enough IMO. I have 2 on a 220 with 2 mid-range Tunzes only with abundant SPS. I have always run mine on yellow crest mode (even though I have an Apex). $0.02.
