Help With Mushroom!

I recently just started my 29 reef. I began with a small colony of zoas and a red mushroom. I have had many fowlr tanks in the past years but i wanted to go all out with this one. I purchased the mushroom from a LFS tonight and came home to acclimate it and in doing so the plastic bag got caught on my hood and tore a hole in it and began leaking the LFS water into my tank, god knows i dont want what they could potentially have in their water. So in a rush i tried to find something to stick it in but couldnt and i just submersed the poor guy in my tank. There was probably a 3 or 4 degree temperature difference and he didnt look to happy with me when he went in. It was the size of a silver dollar at the store and now about the size of a nickel. I shut the lights off and put him in an area that has less water flow but he hasnt spread back out yet...Any suggestions? Anything would help. Also my zoas arent opening to their full potential but the frag was just added yesterday there about in the middle of my tank and they have plenty of water flow and lighting but i heard they can be finicky...

Parameters are great and i hoped by shutting off the lights it would make him more comfortable being that it was in such shock i presume. Thanks for the reply though, much appreciated! Any idea for the zoos? I mean their still small but only seem to open up for a little while then close back up, perhaps give them indirect lighting as i did with the shroom incase its too intense? Less flow?

I wouldnt worry to much about the lfs water. If it were a fish then I would worry.Give it some time they have been taken from a home yet again and placed into a new one....yet again.Different placement would be the way to go after a day or two.to much moving around can stress it even more.good luck.

Thanks dj I just put him in an area with low water flow so if he starts to open back up im going to put him a bit further up in the tank where he has more room to spread bc i would prefer him off the substrate and on the rock. Any words of wisdom on getting my zoos to grow faster and multiply?

I bought a frag of Radioactive green dragon eyes zoa's that had maybe 15 heads on it,it is mid tank 12" right under a radium 250w and tripled the head count in about 1 1/2 months.I bought a frag of fruitloop zoas with about 10 heads on it and didnt multiply yet.been almost 3 weeks.the are about 4" away from the dragon eyes.I guess it depends on the zoa.Good luck and keep us posted.

Im trying to post pics of them but its being extremely difficult and not letting me i resized the photos but now the file size is too large, figures.

Do you think i should put it in some more indirect lighting in a day or two if he doesnt open up like he was. Its looking a little bit more happy now but i still feel i could be doing something different for it to make it happier

itll take a week or so to fully acclimate, also ime mushrooms are absolutely bullet proof, i mean they have to be impossible to kill (given ur parameters arent off in the deep end) i would just wait i think the mushroom will be fine
