My 2 clowns mind there own business but i added a damsel a week ago and at first they picked on him (its the damsel with the yellow stomach). now when they cross him wrong he shoots up his dorsal fin and looks to be trying to fight with my clowns. will my clowns fight back? cause i love my clowns and i dont want anything to happen to them. advice is needed on what i should do about the damsel. my mom and gf love him. (dont wanna get rid of it unless i have to)

damsels are possibly the worst aquarium fish. they are extremely territorial and will almost always have problems with tank mates and try to kill them. i would really take him back the store if you can.

I used to have a damsel with my Picasso clow and he was EXTREMELY agressive towards him....he would hide in his cave and then when the clown swam by he would come out and nip his tail! The clown was forced to swim along the front of the tank and the corners only. I felt so bad for him and my parents didn't believe me until they saw the damsel nip at the clow.....3 times in 2 minutes tops! Needless to say get him out while you can....I had to literally take apart my tank to catch him and it's alot easier to do that as opposed to doing it with a fully stocked tank filled with corals......not fun but it is completely worth it in the long run and now I have a 100% peacefull tank.

Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions!

i noticed that when the damsel messes with one of the clowns the pygmy angel steps in and bites the damsel is that good or bad

I would take it out...even though it doesn't look like it the flow is probably extremely stressed. It's also not good the have the damsel be nipped at by the angle. Damsels I have heard also will harass newcomers extremely bad sometimes till death. But I wouldn't wait just take it out and then you don't have to worry about it anymore. Just my 2 cents

its 9pm i have no where to put it what should i do cause it didnt start getting agressive till last night/early today ive had it for a week. he was the last one to be put it

He will be fine for the night usually after the lights are out they dart into their cave and don't move till lights are on in the morning. Your LFS should give you store credit if you tell them what happened.

ok thank you so much and mine i know gives half credit for trade ins so ill just buy some hermits or save up for a goby
