Help with Osmolator

I just got the tunze osmolator and I'm having some problems with it. I set everything up, got the brackets in place and when I go to plug it in, it pumps a little bit of water and then stops like 3" away from the laser eye switch thingy. I even added some water so that it was level with the laser eye, and then plugged it in, it still just pumped a little water and then stopped. But then the next day my water level was really low in my tank and it had pumped no water. What am I doing wrong?

When the water level goes below the eye, which light is on on the controller box?

Is it possible water is stuck between the sensor and rail or the sensor and glass wall of the sump?

Also, try running the osmolator with your lighting unplugged, EMF from ballasts is a common cause of strange osmolator behavior.

I contacted the place I got it from and they are going to send me a new one. Thanks for all of the help.
