My Tank is well established almost three years old no problems until now. less than two hours ago the water was crystal clear as usual now its clouded up fairly badly all levels are in line
alk 9.6
calc 450-455
mag salifert kit say 1400
specific gravity 1.026-1.027
nitrate,nitrite, ammonia 0
temp 80.2
the only recent break in routine lately was a 36 hour black out on the lighting due to algae the lights were on probably 2/3 of their normal schedule yesterday and have been on for 25 minutes so far today

All corals have little to no PE fish and inverts seem normal no labored breathing or spuratic behaviors.
Any Ideas?? Spawning event possibly??
Any input is appreciated

Is there white stuff settling on you pumps and stuff? If so it could be a calcium precipitation. Basically too much calcium and it starts to "solidify" in the water and precipitate. Your levels don't seem to high though?

It seems like maybe a little on the glass and I noticed my skimmer is putting out alot (more than usual) of microbubbles but they dont make it past the the bubble traps and chaeto chamber in the sump.

Check your anemone for a possible spawning event. The lights out may have stressed it. If it is spawn most of your corals with feeder tentacles should have them out. I've had an anemone spawn and it looked just as you describe.

What do mean "....All corals have little to no PE ..." ?

All of my corals; SPS, LPS zoas and palys were closed up sps withdrawn my candy coral and fungia seemed to have a little stringy mucous.
most of everything seems fine now frogspawn and candies are nice and plump, z's and p's all open sps have good polyp extension the water has cleared up but there are little white speckles on the glass it doesnt seem like precipitate.
My nem split a few months back and the mother and clone looked stressed this morning when I noticed all of this. My fungia still isnt expanded but everything else seems ok like I posted earlier everything tested good and I slowly dripped rodi to bring the salinity back to 1.0265, it was a little high.
After the lights out period the skimmate was reddish brown about a quarter cup in 12 hours. I assume this was from dying algae?

Do you have caulerpa in your fuge? A lights-out involving caulerpa can cause sporing.
