Herbtana by Microbe-lift. You can treat the entire tank and it won't harm corals (they will respond by closing or bubbling up though). I use this product in my 185 g mixed reef (have anemones in there too) ... add it as a prophylactic at the very first sign of any spot.

Do you have any corals or other inverts in your display tank?

Do you have a QT tank?

if so, then you can proceed with either hypo(5-6weeks) or copper(2-3wks) treat the two fish. You would also have to let the tank remain fallow(no fish) for 6-8 weeks.

First: read this sticky--http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1992196
IMO & IME; ich can only be cured by hypo, copper, or quinine sulfate. The fish must be in a QT, these methods will kill inverts. Sometimes, ich can be kept under control for a while; but will reappear. There are no "reef-safe" cures for ich; but lots of hype about a zillion products that claim to work in the presence of inverts. Get a QT, always use it, and you'll never get ich again---if you properly cure ,(rather than just "patch"), the fish you have now. Please read as much valid info as you can on this subject; there just isn't an easy answer. If there was; it would be plastered all over this site, and every other source of info for the SW hobbyist. It isn't.

Ich comes and goes in cycle. If ich is not there means most likely it fell off to the substrate for reproduction. Doesn't mean ich's gone from your system. They'll come back with a vengence.

For sure. This is vital, and often overlooked, info on ich. Spots go away, put fish back in DT, every fish now has it. Same story over & over.

He never showed any other signs of ich other than the whiteish spots. No scratching againt the LR or glass.
I think ich is often mis-diagnosed---especially from pics. But this fish looks like a textbook case of ich. The sudden disappearance of spots is very consistent with ich and fish don't always scratch or flash. I'd bet the farm that, untreated, he will be covered in a few days.

After doing the 10 day Herbtana treatment I was pleased to say that my clownfish did a full recovery. Think the new clown had Brooklynella. Thought they were gonners but it worked. Have anemone, crabs, and snails. None died. Good luck with the treatment. Keep us posted!

Here is a picture from today

How can it only be noticed for 1/2 a day then be gone

Well if you don't believe us then you can say he's cured. I'll say he'll get ich back with more dots than before.
