Check the water to see if there is stray voltage, too. Heaters are notorious for adding current if they get a crack or something along those lines. PH's can also leak voltage. I've never had it and haven't looked at pics in a while, but maybe it could be Brooknella? That is one you see with clowns, though I'm not sure if it is specific to certain clowns or not. Maybe try looking up Marine Velvet, too. Pima Fix and Mela Fix might help, but I'm not sure of the detriment to a reef tank. Garlic certainly can't hurt at all. Can you get a clearer shot of the clown (more of a close up?)?
Has the clowns just started hosting anything? When I got my new clown from Fishboy, as soon as it was released in the tank within 5-10 minutes, it started hosting my green star polyps. A couple days later, I noticed a white slimy/cotton patches on him. I thought it was brooknella. But, then a few days later, it all cleared up. Just a thought. I still don't know if it was a reaction from the polyps or not. Everyone told me they never heard of such.

no voltage, and they have not been hosting at all. I've got a BTA but it's been in there for two months and they don't pay any attention to it at all. but the other fish seem to have the same problem, just to a much lesser state.
I lost my long nose butterfly about a week and a half ago, I think that was due to him being a such a picky eater that I couldn't get him to eat anything but some live brine.
Oh I did just add a small tang two days ago, but he looks fine.
I've got the clowns in the QT and have treated them with "Aquarium Products CURE-ICK" active ingredients: Malachite Green and Formalin.

I can't offer any specific insight into your problem, but I can wish you the best of luck on catching those suckers. I've had a fish in my tank that I've wanted out for about 5 months and haven't had any luck. I tried everything from a coke bottle trap to draining the tank completely to narrow the space he can run to. Needless to say, he mocks me whenever I walk by the tank.

Talking about catching them, almost impossible unless you take the whole thing apart. I tried catching my mandarin one day. He wasn't afraid of my hands at first. He would actually swim by my hands, but after I caught him the first time cause I thought he had something growing on him, which it was nothing. He wouldn't let me get close since. They're smart little buggers!!!

If it is ich, you will need to let your display tank sit fallow for about 6 weeks or they will all get it again. I wonder if it's something that came in with the tang. Did you QT the tang?
Also, just checking and I don't recall reading this earlier in the thread -- but do you really have a reading of 0 for Alk? That would be a serious problem...
