Agreed. Ich "eggs" are microscopic (cannot be seen) and settle into the sand rather than attaching to anything. It's hard to tell for sure, but those look more like small pineapple sponges.

I'd read the ich stickies at the top of the disease forum. Also, reads as much as you can about this hobby before adding fish. It sounds like you have a lot to learn before diving in. You can't learn this hobby one question at a time..

Ok THNKS, the reason I am so paranoid with ick is because a few weeks ago I bought a butterfly fish from pecto which i only kept for a week in my tank, then decided to give it to my buddy's better and bigger established fish tank,2 weeks later his blue tang and sailfin died of ick.I did see a lot of white spots on his fishes also seen that the butterfly fish I gave him was all beat up and stressed out=[I was going to take it back but he insisted that it'll b fine then 2 days later they died bit by bit..only his clown fishes survived..what do you think happen?

"You can't learn this hobby one question at a time." is the best quote I've read in a long, long time. Boy, is it ever true!

If you bought fish from petco and added them without quarantine, you most likely have every possible parasite in your tank. Read, read, read.
