My clowns have beeen in my tank for about 2 weeks now with no aggression problums at all. My larger(female I believe) is being very agressive to my smaller(male I believe) like she's keeping him in one area of the tank, is this normal??? If he leaves that spot she chases him for alitttle.

And I notived once that the larger one did the shaking dabce thing next to a rock...doesn't the smalled one do this normaily? Sorry very new to clowns...

The only reason I am conserned is it looks like she's biting him pretty good...
Please any help or experence would be greatly apprecated

Ok cool I am so excited about all this I love it, I am going to college for mareian studies so its so cool. My little guy started biting at her tall alittle bit when she attacks him then they both do the submision dance... he has a few bite marks on his head and body should they heal up???

ya you should get the book Clown fishes by Wilkerson its great explained a lot of stuff i didn't know about the species. not to expensive iether. what kind are they? that would help as well with advice.

Umm I was told many different things on what they where, ill get the link and show u what people said when I get a chance, or u can look its on page 11(give or take one) and the thred is called "what type of clowns do I have" there's pics there too, id love to get your imput on what type I have

one is def a picaso and the other is a perc like the others are saying. how long have you had um? they look like there pairing.

I have had them for about 2 or 3 weeks, they seem to be doing better now the male is kinda just avoiding the female, and she has been hanging around my frogspawn slowly letting herself hit the top of it, maybe she's trying to get it use to her so she can host it but idk, and even though they r 2 different types can thewy still pair up??? Sorry I am a newb and thanks for the help

ya they should be able to there in the same complex and they should both be percs the picaso is just a verient like platinums and onyx

Little late but better late then never!

I think the fish are fine.I have had many Perculas do the same thing.Female has to let male know she is the "queen" and the boss of the tank! She will not give up till the male subbmits.Sounds like he is submitting and she is letting every thing go.Keep an eye on the fins and the body of the clownfish as you dont want to have any parasites problems and infections also.

Keep an eye on them and they should be fine!Once you learn how to pair and get more experince you will be able to pair harder sp. like Clarkiis and Tomatos!

Better brush up on that grammar before you get to a marine biology class.

Bump because my clowns r still being very aggresive tords eachother is this normal, she's very mean to the smaller one, she patroles the whole tank and he stays up in the top back corner, if he leaves or attemps to she attacks him, and does for a good 2-5 mins is this still normal???? Also I though it would be importent to mention they both do sleep together in that top corner with no agression but not till lights out....
