After enjoying Lewy's thread about the nems and other critter on display at low tide in Darwin Australia I thought it would be nice to see the low tide flora and fauna of Thailand Andaman coast off Ko lanta. These shots are taken extremeley close to a river estuary that has extensive mangrove, less than a mile, The water is most often turbid, but in the dry season you do get some good snorkeling conditions. These shots were on a large flat muddy bay with a couple of beautiful mangrove trees close to shore that were inthe sea when the tide was in!
The coral and nems are about 800m out from the beach surrounding a rocky spit of land which separated this beach from the nect one that was your more classic thai beach (rocky headland with a fringing reef followed by a long stunning golden sand beach) look http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=7.646005,99.034624&spn=0.076476,0.130548&t=h&z=14&msid=107883027535838567863.00047d46b6c632c288704 here.
